In the past days I have been presenting you the novelties of the brands exhibiting at Watches & Wonders, Asia´s one and only and most exclusive Haute Horlogerie Exhibition.
Watches & Wonders is a kind of mini Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) developing step by step to become an autonomous exhibition and not only being a late-in-the-year-replica of the Geneva based SIHH.
The brands made some real efforts to create new models and to present them at the HKCEC – Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Here and yet I will show my favorites. You may find more technical details by opening the articles I have already published about the watches earlier. Some of them even very early, as you will find out if you scroll down the main page of the blog a little bit.
Today is not about explaining you all details, its about my personal favorites and why I like them…

A. Lange & Söhne 1815 “200th Anniversary F. A. Lange”
The edition of the 1815 “200th Anniversary F. A. Lange” in honey gold is limited to 200 watches. The solid-silver dial is endowed with a finely textured argenté-grainé surface. The 40-millimetre case is engraved with a serial number between 001/200 and 200/200.
Less is more! In my eyes just a stunning beautiful wristwatch crafted to the most exacting Lange quality standards …

Baume & Mercier Clifton
Loyal to its motto, “Accept only perfection, only manufacture watches of the highest quality” Baume & Mercier was inspired by a 1950s model in the museum collection to create the Clifton watch. What you get is a good looking watch, now also with a black dial, for a very reasonable price. I like this type of watch with its full calendar indications (has to be adjusted manually) and the moon phase

Cartier Clé de Cartier
Cartier showed us the new steel/gold version of its new Clé watch, but did not provide us with pictures yet. So I show at a glance all the so far existing models and I do have to ask you to imagine how the steel gold version would look like. That´s anyhow not difficult to imagine 🙂 As soon I have the steel / gold pictures I will put them online. Why I like the Clé? The Clé in my eyes is a very welcome alternative especially for women to any Rolex Oyster. It´s the same type of watch, but made by Cartier … Can a man wear the watch? He could, I would not!
IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Monopusher
Not everyone liked the design of that Portofino chronograph, but everyone admitted that the watch is powered by a very nice and technical interesting in-house calibre. What I personally liked is how smooth and exactly you can operate the start-stop-reset-pusher, being integrated in the crown. Bravo IWC, your watchmakers made some real efforts to manufacture such a perfect chronograph calibre …

Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic Universal Time
I cannot get enough of looking at this wonderful Geophysic Universal Time wristwatch. Simply stunning!

Its seconds hand jumps in one second steps over the dial. At first sight looks like a quartz-watch, but it is a new highly sophisticated mechanical calibre of Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Love the vacheron canstantin minute reaper. Wish I could afford one
A nice collection for must have, but only for rich and famous, rest of us have to save for years or rob the bank. I will go for a Jeager as Jeager Malaysia give me special discount of 20% without tax as I am their regular client. I will encourage all watch lover to visit this boutique, you will get full Royal treatment and nice Asia tea.

In a shop in Malaysia, they offered 50% one some high end brands like AP.
The reason, the market have collapsed as everybody buying Apple Watch.
In a Malaysia Apple Store, they have a long waiting list.
I don’t know any place where you have to wait for your Apple Watch. The contrary is true. To many of them are waiting for buyers. The discounts must have other reasons. This has nothing to do with the Apple Watch.
BM Clifton and the Infant Terrible skeleton. The Lange is a beautiful watch.
I definitely would go either Lange or Montblanc. Both outstanding declinations of existing Models !

Easy answer: As long prices may still change last minute I don’t think it is useful and clever to publish them. I learned my lessons in the past, believe me. You and many others would be the first to blame for doing this…
The Lange takes the cake for me. How amazing that their simplest designs are usually the most successful.
