Watches & Wonders 2015: My favorite new timepieces

Montblanc Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar Sapphire

This is a perfectly made mechanical, perpetual calendar in an 18 carat pink gold case with a see-through ultra-thin sapphire dial sold for only 19.500 Euro including 19 % VAT. Thats Montblanc! Delivering the finest watches, the most interesting complications for almost unbelievable prices. Why pay more? Sorry dear competitors!

Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio – 42mm

I assume that some of you would have expected me nominating the new Luminor 1950 with its California dial here. Far from it!

This is the Panerai I liked the most. The watch is very elegant, slim and good looking and still a typical Panerai, but no longer a martial wristwatch. Panerai understands to seduce and to attract new customers! Bravo! Bravissimo!

Piaget Limelight Stella

All the women I show the watch like it. So do I by the way. It seems Piaget hit a bull’s eye with its new Limelight Stella

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Skeleton Automatic

I must admit that I am not big fan of skeletonized calibers. But I like this one from Roger Dubuis. The combination of the black “naked” automatic calibre with the “warm” pink gold case looks good. In my eyes one of the coolest high-end “strip watches” on the market

Vacheron Constantin Maître Cabinotier Perpetual Calendar Regulator

This one is an one shot, an unique piece with a brown opaline, hand-guilloché dial. The combination of that brown dial and the pink gold case is simply stunning. Everyone liked this watch and I think Vacheron Constantin CEO Charlie Torres already regrets the decision to only manufacture one piece. By the way: The new Calibre 2460 RQP was specially designed and developed by the master-watchmakers of the Manufacture in order to provide a regulator-type display of the hours and minutes.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony ultra-thin calibre 1731

This ultra-thin Minute Repeater is perfect understatement, yet nihilistic understatement! Only the real connoisseur will see the difference, for all others this is simply an elegant three hands watch. Good to know, just in case you discover the watch on someones wrist:  The Vacheron Constantin Calibre 1731 set a double record: it is the thinnest hand-wound minute repeater movement (at 3.9 mm), driving the thinnest hand-wound watch (8.1 mm).

A nice collection for must have, but only for rich and famous, rest of us have to save for years or rob the bank. I will go for a Jeager as Jeager Malaysia give me special discount of 20% without tax as I am their regular client. I will encourage all watch lover to visit this boutique, you will get full Royal treatment and nice Asia tea.

If you buy a Glasshutte Original in Dubai, I have been offered 30% discount,
In a shop in Malaysia, they offered 50% one some high end brands like AP.
The reason, the market have collapsed as everybody buying Apple Watch.
In a Malaysia Apple Store, they have a long waiting list.

        1. I don’t know any place where you have to wait for your Apple Watch. The contrary is true. To many of them are waiting for buyers. The discounts must have other reasons. This has nothing to do with the Apple Watch.

I definitely would go either Lange or Montblanc. Both outstanding declinations of existing Models !

Just a few Vacheron Canstantin watches in this lot.

I wish you would provide us with pictures and details of all the Vacheron Canstantin novelties exhibited in Watches & Wonders 2015

But some of us would love to see all the Vacheron Canstantin novelties exhibited in Watches & Wonders 2015.

So, please be kind enough to do it as soon as possible.

        Thanking you in advance!

        1. Easy answer: As long prices may still change last minute I don’t think it is useful and clever to publish them. I learned my lessons in the past, believe me. You and many others would be the first to blame for doing this…

The Lange takes the cake for me. How amazing that their simplest designs are usually the most successful.
