Bronze upholstery ages and acquires a beautiful patina over time. Some times it might be a little extreme as this picture of that Panerai shows us. Send me your pictures of your bronze watch and share the patina with us.
This is a picture of a Panerai LUMINOR SUBMERSIBLE 1950 3 DAYS AUTOMATIC – 47MM (PAM00382) in a bronze case I found on Instagram.
I reposted the watch on my Instagram account and in less than 24 hours more than 1000 people liked what they saw and added several comments.
So this Panerai might be a little extreme, but I assume many of you own a bronze watch and its look might have changed since the beginning when you started wearing it.
I proudly own the Oris Carl Brashear Limited Edition and its bronze case has begun to chance surface color.

I am curious now and I want to see your bronze cases!
Please send me a picture of your bronze watch and tell me what I shall post as a comment. If you wish to stay anonymous, no problem, I guarantee you that I will only post the picture and “forget” the rest.
The objective of our small exercise is to get as many as possible different pictures showing bronze watches aging…
Please send your pictures to this email address: alexander@watch-insider.com and let me know exactly what you wish to be added to your picture… Nothing or e.g. your name, where you live, when you bought the watch, etc. etc. …
I will award a nice little prize for the best picture sent to me!
Who will be first?
And here they come the first watches…
From a reader in Germany this is the Steinhart Flieger 47 mm. The watch belongs to Raimund. He wrote me that he accelerated the aging process by putting the watch together with a boiled and mashed egg into a plastic bag. “I simply did not want to wait so long”, Raimund told me ..
The second watch, the IWC Aquatimer Charles Darwin, comes from Gianmarco in Italy. This is what he wrote me: “I’ve had this almost 2 years now and whilst the pictures may not show much change, it has gone from being a shiny yellow/gold colour to a nice subtle dark brown. There are some areas around the bezel that are darker, almost black in colour but I love it and look forward to more changes through time.”

This is a picture from Brian showing his Oris Carl Brashear …
Acutally, the only watch I’d be interested in is the Panerai. But the appeal go a little bit lost since so many other brands have no bronze cases, I must admit. Still very interesting to see the changes to the material – thank you for sharing.
