There we go, my Omega watch of the year 2014 is the new Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial.
I did choose the new Seamaster because it reunites all of the Omega´s actual technology. The new Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial is the technological spearhead of the brand.
Like the original Seamaster from 1957, the new 2014 Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial features a symmetric case and a unidirectional rotating bezel as well as a dark dial, lighter indexes and big hands and numbers for easier reading in various lighting conditions.
The 41 mm Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial is available in a variety of metallic materials including stainless steel, 950-platinum, grade-5-titanium and 18-carat Omega Sedna gold and bicolour options pairing grade-5-titanium and 18-carat Omega Sedna gold or stainless steel and 18-carat Sedna™ gold.
The black ceramic dial of the Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial features transferred dial elements that are produced using a combination of gold and palladium. A patented process that involves a high temperature treatment enhances the white gold colour; the enamel under-layer creates the curving contour of the indexes. The 18-carat white gold central hour, minute and seconds hands are coated with so called vintage-Super-LumiNova and the hour and seconds hands emit a blue light as do the recessed hour markers. The minute hand is also coated with Super-LumiNova but emits a green light.
The stainless steel timepiece features a sand-blasted black dial which complements the polished black ceramic bezel ring decorated with a Liquidmetal diving scale. Recessed hour markers are coated with so called vintage-Super-LumiNova which emits a blue light as do the rhodium-plated hour and seconds hands; the minute hand and the dot on the bezel are coated with Super-LumiNova that emits a green light.
And one of the new models in the Seamaster 300 collection features a case and bracelet made from Omega´s 18-cata Sedna gold. This is an Omega-exclusive material that was introduced during Baselworld in 2013. Its sandblasted black dial is adorned with facetted 18-carat Omega Sedna gold hands and white transferred dial indications. The polished black ceramic bezel ring is enriched with an Omega Ceragold™ diving scale.
With the Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial Omega introduced the Master Co-Axial calibre 8400/8401. It incorporates the Co-Axial technology but also features the new anti-magnetic technology, which ensures that any timepiece equipped with a Master Co-Axial movement resists magnetic fields greater than 15,000 gauss (1.5 tesla or 1.200.000 A/m. That´s 15-times more than a Rolex Milgauss or an IWC Ingenieur can resist). The Master Co-Axial calibre 8400 powers the bi-colour, stainless steel and grade-5-titanium models while the Master Co-Axial calibre 8401, with its special luxury finish, powers the models crafted from 18-carat Omega Sedna gold and 950 platinum. Of course the calibre is an officially certified chronometer. All the Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial are water resistant to 300 metres or 1000 feet. Omega offers a full four-year warranty.
The case back of each Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial is engraved with “Si14”, “ANTI-MAGNETIC > 15’000 GAUSS” and, depending on what alloy the diving scale is made of, “Liquidmetal®” or “Omega Ceragold™”.
Bracelets of the Omega Seamster 300 Master Co-Axial are fashioned with the patented rack-and-pusher clasp, which is adjustable to six different positions making it possible for the watch to fit over the sleeve of a diving suit; releasing the clasp, pressing the “push” button and sliding the inner clasp to the desired fit adjust the bracelet.

Great choice, but I actually thought it might be the Tresor, which I LOVE, with it’s slim, rotorless Master Co-Axial movement. It is the perfect “gentleman’s” or “business” watch.
The Trésor will be part of top ten dress watches 🙂

Went looking for my wifes watch and decided on the omega constellation with the co-axial movement 9850 euro. My wife loves the look of the watch. Then went to another jeweller’s and they tell that omega 60% of watches need to go back to the factory to get fixed. Is this true? i like the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous, This retails in Ireland at 12,700 euro. This is over my budget but would invest if the brand is that much better than Omega.Then the Tag Carrera automatic retailing at 6930 euro. y poor simple head is very confused.My wife would would be happy with my choice. What would you do in this situation. I greatly respect your view.

Dear Alexander. I agree and i would have been disappointed had you chosen the ‘grey side’. Omega is doing a fantastic job in ‘re-issuing’ al of its ‘golden oldies’ but as usual, the original remains the favorite!
