Chronographs, cars, classic cars and motorsports are in a symbiotic relationship. In competition the seconds, tenth of a second and hundreds of a second make the difference. The second place is the first loser …

I have chosen ten new chronographs for you that are new and linked to motorsports, cars and classic cars. They are as always presented in alphabetic order, so this is not a ranking!

After seeing them all, please let me know which one is your favorite …

Baume & Mercier „Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963“

Breitling „Bentley B06 Midnight Carbon“

Breitling and Bentley are linked for years now and it´s a fruitful cooperation. This chronograph is brand new, was not presented in Basel. The 49 mm blackened steel case houses the Breitling B06 chronographs calibre.  Its “30-second chronograph” system, inspired by a Breitling patent dating from 1926, is distinguished by its central hand performing a full sweep of the dial in half a minute – and thus ensuring extremely accurate 1/8th of a second time readings from the dial. 500 pieces. Rolex „Cosmograph Daytona“

The most sought after timepiece in steel in 2016 since it was launched in Basel in March. Since the Rolex Cosmograph got the name “Daytona” it became a ticking icon. Everybody wants to have one and the waiting lists get longer every day. That´s what I call a phenomenon and ingenious marketing! Besides this also a fantastic timepiece made in best Rolex quality. Price: 11.300 Euro including 19 % VAT.

(TAG) Heuer „Monza Calibre 17“

This timepiece is being called Heuer Monza and not TAG Heuer Monza! Bravo! Since IMHO the today´s TAG Heuer chronographs have nothing in common with the iconic Heuer chronographs of the past. That´s a complete new generation of chronographs! No other brand was so linked to motorsports in the past than Heuer. This is a replica of the legendary Monza, a chronograph being part of the lives of legends like Niki Lauda, James Hunt & Co. The 42 mm blackened titanium case houses an ETA 2894-2 calibre. The watch is limited and sold for 4700 Euro including 19 % VAT.

Tissot „T-Race MotoGP Automatic Limited Edition 2016“

As the main sponsor of MotoGP Tissot every year launches several limited chronographs honoring this partnership. This 45 mm steel timepiece powered by an automatic ETA calibre looks like the huge brake-disc of a motorbike. It features a carbon effect dial, on top of which various anthracite details give it its rich design. Price 1250 Euro including 20 % VAT.

Zenith „El Primero 36’000 VpH Classic Cars“

Zenith meanwhile has taken over the partnership of almost all important classic car events in the world. This 42 mm steel chronograph is powered by an “El Primero” calibre. Its balance wheel oscillates with 36.000 A/h (= 5 Hz) and therefore enables the read of the 1/10th of a second from the dial. A little but essential difference to many other chronographs on the market, since the 1/8th of a second is nice to have but almost useless… Or can you name me one single sport event that is timed in 1/8th of a second? Price: 6900 Euro including 19 % VAT.

I like the brown Zenith car with 600 horse power, 1 to 100 km in 10 second and very petrol thirsty.
iif you drive this car in Norway (highest petrol in the world), your monthly salary isn’t sufficient.
I live in Saudi Arabia, where water is more expensive than petrol.

    Nice collection with cars.
