Desperate? Still looking for a useful present? Discover five mechanical wristwatches for less than 5000 Euro/CHF/USD each

Are you among those holiday-season-stressed who are still looking for a useful gift? What about a wristwatch, one you can afford? Here you get twice your money’s worth

Before spending your money for anything useless you should consider buying a wristwatch – by the way suitable also for the youngsters among us. I plead that they should wear a wristwatch! The latter will be a longterm companion, something that will last almost for ever …

Spontaneously these five Swiss made timepieces came into my mind. I assure you they look good and the quality is top.

Let me show you them:

Baume & Mercier Clifton Big Date & Power Reserve:

Two nice little and useful mechanical complications built into a 43 mm steel case and sold for 3500 Euro including 19 % VAT.

Certina DS Action Diver:

This is an ISO 6425 certified Diver equipped with a mechanical, automatic calibre, that is built in a 43,2 mm steel case and sold for only 730 Euro including 19 % VAT. Just in case you don’t like the blue dial & bezel, there is also a black version available for the same price.

Longines The Longines Pulsometer Chronograph:

Go for the vintage look! The 40 mm steel case houses an automatic chronograph caliber with column wheel. The chronograph is operated with only one pusher built into the crown. This is why such a chronograph is called mono-pusher. The timepiece is sold for 3500 Euro including 19 % VAT.

Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time:

For travellers a very useful watch indicating a second zone-time and the home-time. If you synchronize home-time before leaving home with the blue hour hand indicating the second zone-time, you can, when travelling and changing a timezone, easily adjust the watch. You simply need to pull out the crown and adjust the silver hour hand in one one-hour steps forward or backward. The Montblanc will then show you local time and home-time (including a day-/night-indication). The 41 mm steel watch is sold for 4290 Euro including 19 % VAT.

Among these watches I choose the Baume&Mercier . I like the size of the watch plus the fact that it has a Power Reserve Indicator. I don’t like the third second hand and would have preferred a sub dial instead for the seconds. Alex, may I ask what watch it is that you wear ?

We know that Omega is your favourite watch brand, but I expected you to wear Omega Speedmaster, as anybody can make out that you have an weakness for chronographs.
