Shortly thereafter Chris Hemsworth – Australian actor, in 2014 appointed Sexiest Man Alive – becomes a new testimonial for TAG Heuer´s “Don’t crack under pressure” campaign.
TAG Heuer was a partner of Rush. Rush is a 2013 biographical sports drama film centred on the rivalry between Formula 1 drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda during the 1976 Formula One motor-racing season. Chris Hemsworth starred as the Formula 1 driver James Hunt, actor Daniel Brühl played Niki Lauda. During the shooting of Rush Chris Hemsworth and TAG Heuer already got closer, so the step to cooperate seems logical …
Only one day later TAG Heuer announces the partnership with Swiss ski maker Stöckli and presents TAG Heuer skis manufactured by Stöckli.
Jean-Claude Biver stated: “Pioneering, high-tech, precise, high-quality: both our brands have these qualities in common. These two Swiss brands have achieved remarkable success worldwide and are also primarily aimed at young people. TAG Heuer has long acted as Official Timekeeper at the Skiing World Cup and its affiliation with the world of skiing dates back to the 1980s. This is not, therefore, a new strategy, but rather a grateful recognition of this sport which is a pillar of tourism in our country.”
Some days later TAG Heuer announces the partnership with the famous Patrouille des Glaciers Race.
TAG Heuer now is the Official Timer and Official Watch of the most famous international military ski mountaineering race, organised by the Swiss army and also open to civilian patrols, which will take place from 19th to 22nd April 2016, between Zermatt and Verbier in Valais, and which will bring together more than 5000 racers.
Jean-Claude Biver announced: “The Patrouille des Glaciers is one of Switzerland’s most legendary races. I am incredibly proud that the Swiss Army has chosen TAG Heuer as its partner. We are going to be involved in the race in the most dynamic fashion: not only as its sponsor, but also by organising the attendance of a patrol of 4 Chinese racers who will take part in the race and discover ski mountaineering in our Alps, helping to raise the event’s international profile.”
And to complete Biver´s incredible show let me tell you that TAG Heuer signed the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 Team, becoming Official Timekeeper and Official watch of the team.
The two brands also took the opportunity to unveil the new name of the 2016 car: Red Bull Racing – TAG Heuer RB12.
