Baselworld 2013 … The Erwin Sattler novelties

Based in Munich Germany Erwin Sattler is a specialized clock maker, producing Precision Pendulum Clocks, Table Clocks, Precision Watch Winders and many more stunning timepieces.

On 4 March 1903, clockmaker Heinrich Sattler patented a desk or shelf clock containing a perpetual calendar. His motto was: “What you can’t buy, you simply have to make yourself”. In 1958, about 60 years after Heinrich Sattler’s invention, Erwin Sattler founded his own clock making manufacture, which now, as then, attaches great importance to ensuring the finest workmanship, the highest precision and timeless design. Between 1992 and 2002, Erwin Sattler transformed into an almost fully self-sufficient manufacture, achieving a production depth of over 90 percent. Erwin Sattler has developed meanwhile into a modern-day clock-making manufacture operating on the basis of a combination of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and centuries-old craftsmanship. The resulting creations are wonderful fixtures that immediately become the visual focus of whatever room they are placed in. Since virtually all parts are manufactured in-house in exclusive small-batch series, there is also ample scope for customization. For over 50 years, employees of Erwin Sattler have been delivering the very highest standards of quality and, in keeping with the company’s tradition, have been developing and making timepieces that truly last for generations

The todays range of products of Erwin Sattler is huge.

  • Precision Pendulum Clocks
  • Regulator Pulley Clocks
  • Table Clocks
  • Longcase Clocks
  • Wristwatches
  • Precision Watch Winder

This year Erwin Sattler surprised me in Basel with a nice story and table clock: Audi-CEO Rupert Stadler wanted to buy table clock for his office. He visited Erwin Sattler in Munich and obviously fell in love with the products of Sattler. Instead of just buying an existing table clock he insisted that his Audi-Design-Team and Erwin Sattler should develop a modern looking table clock together. There it is, as far I know these a quite exclusive photographs of that stunning Erwin Sattler Audi design table clock. No official release has been made yet, so I think we should just let my photographs talk. The Audi Design table clock is based on the Erwin Sattler Lunaris

As always you may  e n l a r g e  my photgraphs by clicking on them once and then again …

Guys, do yo agree if write: This is a very cool table clock, a refined timepiece for real connoisseurs. Chapeau Audi! Chapeau Erwin Sattler!

As mentioned above Erwin Sattler also produces precision watch winders. This year Erwin Sattler presented Aero. The name itself shows its affinity with aviation. The breathtaking and extraordinary design piece has room for four wristwatches and, at its center, has an extremely decorative aviator-style clock from the clock making manufacture Erwin Sattler. The Aero’s stunning appearance is also due to the materials used, as black real leather coupled with polished, chromed metal elements made for a unique impression. Indirect LED lighting perfectly sets the scene for both the four wristwatches in their watch winders, as well as the dial of the large clock. The domed crystals, which have covers secured with bayonet catches, offer protection for the four winders and the aviator-style clock. Clarity that is second-to-none is provided by the central, aviator-style clock with its black anodized dial, white numerals and highly polished stainless-steel hands.

Thanks to the exclusive Sattler-Beluwo ® watch-winder technology, every winder can be programmed individually using WLAN or a USB interface. Moreover, the database supplied provides collectors with the parameters for more than 7000 wristwatches. It goes without saying that wristwatches stored in the Aero are always kept vertical during the rest phase.

The Aero from Erwin Sattler combines an evocative design with an innovative function, and as always, with the high quality that you have come to expect. Where else would you want to keep valuable wristwatches safe than in this expertly crafted work of art, which has a limited-edition run of just 58.
