I am back from my todays rally and now I want to present you the Rolex novelties.
I had forecasted a new Cosmograph Daytona, but Rolex did not present one. The Cosmograph Daytona celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, so this would have been a good occasion to do so. Yes, Rolex is different and they do not care to much about anniversaries. We have to accept this fact.
So the first “novelty” is the instead presented Cosmograph Daytona in heavy platinum case and a Cerachrome ceramic bezel
The second “novelty” is a GMT Master II with a blue and black turning ceramic bezel. The third “novelty” is a Yacht-Master II in a steel case. And the fourth “novelty” are Day-Date models with different colored dials.
So from the technical point of view there is not much to say. You all know these watches… 🙂
Of course the Two-Colour-Cerachrom ceramic Bezel of the new GMT-Master II and the Cosmograph Daytona is more then perfectly done.

The new Yacht Master II is 17,600 CHF according to my friend who went to Basel
Very Expensive!! I was expecting somewhere around 13000 CHF
Any chance of getting a ballpark price on the new steel Yachtmaster or maybe you have picture with the CHF price which can be converted to US. Conversion presently @ 1 CHF= $1.06 US.

Rolex have the ability to produce the best of classic designs,from which every other watch manufacturer has produced a derivative, but they are truly at their worst when they try to appeal to the ‘bling’ market; it’s just not their style, thank God.

There are a lot fantastic watches in the world, but I think Rolex Watches are the greatest! Moreover, thanks a lot for the great pictures!
Total disappointment from Rolex in 2013. New GMT bezel is great, but why do we have to go all the way up the price scale to the Platinum case on the Daytona to get the new ceramic bezel?
