The Certina DS-1 history goes back in the late 1950s. At that time the mountaineers that first climbed on the Dhaulagiri in the Himalaya had a Certina DS-1 on their wrists. Today you may discover a replica and two new DS-1 watches.

The 316L-steel case has a diameter of 40 mm, is waterproof to 100 meters and features a curved sapphire glas that is treated to be antireflective.
You may choose in-between a version with a silver and a black dial. Additional there is the Certina DS-1 Powermatic 80 – Himalaya Special Edition dedicated to the conquest of the 8167 meter high Dhaulagiri summit in 1960.

Not bad at all! For a good looking, 100 percent Swiss Made wristwatch really not bad at all, especially when considering the quality of the watch and its “state of the art” ETA-calibre.
