Live from Watches&Wonders 2014 in Hong Kong: IWC Schaffhausen presents its new Portofino Ladies Watches

IWC Portofino Midsize Ladies Watches

In the next days I will be bringing you many information and novelties from Watches&Wonders 2014 here in Hongkong.  To start, as a teaser, I can show the first pictures of the new IWC Portofino Ladies Watches. So stay tuned!

In the following days these are the brands that will exhibit here at Watches&Wonders:

A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Piaget, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels.

Thirteen of the top Fine Watchmaking Maisons returned to Hong Kong this Autumn’s Golden Week to gather for Watches&Wonders 2014. Last year, more than 16,000 visitors travelled from all over Asia to attend this exceptional event, which was created specifically for the region by the Exhibiting Committee of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH).

To start I can present you the new IWC Portofino Midsize Ladies Watches

The actual IWC collection will be enriched with 17 new references in a 37mm case diameter that clearly aims to capture the hearts – and wrists – of the lady.

The new IWC Portofino Midsize collection offers a variety of case materials, as well as different dial and strap colours and diamond settings to meet what the brand’s CEO Georges Kern describes as “an increasing worldwide demand for watches set with diamonds.”

I’m not sure if the female clients will hop on this train…
I remember a couple of years ago they tried to convince the ladies with a mid size Da Vinci series with the same recipe of ingredients (smaller size,Diamonds, colour) and most of the watches became dusty at the AD’s .
The Designer’s are in my opinion not very creative on the sector ‘ladies watch’
Especially in a portofolio which IWC represents, they really deserved an own line up and not just a smaller copy of a ‘hubbie’s’ watch.
My wife looked at the watches and instantly came out : I’d rather buy the men’s watch then, and wear the diamonds separately ;-))

It seems only Richemont companies are exhibiting at this Watch Fair, what about Swatch companies and other watch brands?

Anyway, I have always enjoyed your presentations and, so, looking for some truly entertaining as well as informative write-ups and great pictures.
