SIHH 2016: Interview with Georges Kern, CEO IWC Schaffhausen

Georges Kern CEO IWC Schaffhausen

Georges Kern is a charismatic and though-minded industry leader. The Captain of IWC Schaffhausen has carefully done his pre-flight checks and therefore is well prepared for 2016 …

Today I learned that the new pilot´s watches sell well. By the way this is also what retailers from around the world confirmed since they bought the new timepieces. But before coming to the SIHH in Geneva Georges Kern was a little nervous. Listen to my interview with the IWC CEO and you will know that this success is no coincidence….

Interesting interview, Georges Kern is both a pragmatic and inspring leader I think, thank you Alexander. Enjoy your day of rest! Great new Pilot line up. I don’t see the big move into entry level in house movements that I expected. Do you know why Alexander? Is it because of the market circumstances, are the production falicities not ready or is the in house madness lowering to normal proportions?

Alex, what a great interview and what a leader. Down to earth. Also had a look at the new Pilot range especially the Top Gun, absolutely stunning and priced very reasonably. What I never understood of IWC is why they changed the design of the Da Vincci range away from classical look. For me the 1980 Da Vincci Perpetual Calander Chronograph with the Moon Phase at 12 o’clock is still one of the nicest watches ever made.
