Video Blancpain: Assembly of the Blancpain Carrousel Minute Repeater

Jeff Kingston visits Blancpain watches in Le Brassus. Expand your knowledge about watchmaking and Blancpain watches.

Blancpain is the oldest watch brand in the world. Its workshop has been in the family, since 1860 when Louis Elisée Piguet found it as an abandoned mill above Le Brassus and made it one of his workshops for Grand Complication. That tradition continues today, because Grand Complications are what are made in one of the two facilities that Blancpain has in La Vallée de Joux.

The main workshops are in Le Sentier, but in Le Brassus entirely, Grand Complications are the subject matter. Jeff Kingston is going to follow the construction and assembly of the Blancpain Carrousel Minute Repeater. There are several stages we’re going to see: engraving, hand finishing and assembly done in two stages.
