Canvas on the wrist with Swatch x Rijksmuseum.

Swatch loves bringing art to the people. Remaining true to this commitment, the Swiss watchmaker is partnering up with art museums of international renown to reinterpret a distinctive selection of their famous artworks. Meet Swatch x Rijksmuseum.

Swatch x Rijksmuseum

We joined Swatch for the official launch at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Here their new collection was presented in style. The inspiration for the new Swatch designs is found in artwork that dates all the way back to the 1500’s. Amongst a mixed crowd of artists, musicians, fashion bloggers and journalists we made our way through the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

The creative collaboration will kick off beginning of July at the Rijksmuseum, icon of the arts in the Netherlands and home to more than 8,000 displayed artistic as well as historical objects from the year 1200 right up to the present.

For the first time in the history of Swatch, masterpieces from historical art serve as a base for three new canvases on the wrist, skillfully completed with contemporary touches.

These three new watches, part of the “Worldhood” Fall-Winter collection 2018, will also be available at the Rijksmuseum Shop. Another inspiring journey of Swatch and Art that will take its second step this October spot stay tuned.
