Just a brief information and a short comment from my side for those of you interested in developments at Richemont. I have already announced that Mr. Fornas would become Co-Chief Executive of Richemont together with Mr. Richard Lepeu. Now it is official…
This morning the confirmation came by email. This is the official statement of Richemont:

Richemont announces the nomination of Mr Bernard Fornas to the Board of Directors of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA. Mr Fornas is currently Joint Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Richemont and is a member of its Group Management Committee. Mr Fornas was Chief Executive of Cartier from 2002 to 2012 and first joined that Maison in 1994. With effect from 1 April 2013, Mr Fornas will become Co-Chief Executive Officer of Richemont. Mr Richard Lepeu will also become Co-Chief Executive Officer of Richemont from that date.
Mr Fornas has been nominated for election to the Board of Directors at the Company’s Annual General Meeting, to be held on 12 September 2013. His appointment is subject to the approval of the shareholders at that meeting. Mr Fornas will serve as an executive director.” …
I have a very good and personal relationship with Mr. Fornas for years now. Last time we met was at the SIHH in Geneva. So let me take the opportunity and congratulate Mr. Fornas for his appointment to become Co-Chief Executive Officer of Richemont.
To my personal opinion Mr. Fornas is one of the best managers of the industry. Just look what he did with Cartier in the last ten years.
Now on top of Richemont he will continue his way with a lot of positive energy and together with Mister Lepeu he will be an excellent leader. Believe me, all the CEOs of the Richemont brands working with him can expect very dynamic and challenging upcoming years at Richemont.
