Whatever Nomos does seems to be accepted by its community. I can tell you there is huge interest for the new Nomos Lambda and Lux watches here at the Munichtime.
Before starting my short report about Nomos and showing you some nice photographs I just took from the new watches and before letting you hear the interview with Merlin Schwertner, let me please apologize for not being able to upload the videos of Munichtime.
This morning I filmed five videos with the goal to show you more about the exhibition here in Munich. My problem is I cannot upload them properly because they are too heavy. The Swisscom-WLAN we all share is just to slow for uploading big files. In my eyes this is a shame to have such conditions in the center of Munich, but I cannot change anything. So I will upload them from my office tomorrow and put them online for you.
So I thought you might like to see the new Nomos watches and the get some answers to your various questions you might have. Merlin Schwertner and I had real fun recording that interview. Please listen to it!
Merlin Schwertner and I chatting this afternoon…
I already published almost all information about these wonderful new watches. If you seek for the technical information about the Nomos Lambda and Nomos Lux please click HERE
The only thing that was missing are self-made photos… There they are!
Some photos look very similar, but they aren’t since I highlighted different details with the macro lens.
Please click to enlarge them …
They are already available! Last weekend at Munichtime some models could only be presented as prototypes. Yesterday I saw them in the display windows of some jewellers in Hamburg, Germany. This I call a launch!
For my visit of this year’s Munichtime Nomos with the new Lambda and Lux certainly was a major item on my list. When a friend and me were watching these new and extraordinary models in a showcase at the Nomos booth a friendly gentleman addressed us and asked if we would like to sit down and take a closer look. Of course we did. 🙂 He brought a tray with the four new models and we really had our fun touching them, trying them on our wrists, taking many pictures and asking and discussing just everything about these watches that came to our mind. We were deeply impressed by the enthusiasm and the cordiality that we encountered. That friendly gentleman from Nomos was Merlin Schwertner.
And this is what makes the Munichtime so special for me. Everybody who is interested in watches can just go there, meet the representatives of the brands, can have in-depth hands-on experiences with the brand new models in a gorgeous ambience and does not even have to pay an entrance fee.
Andreas, thank you for your comment! Munichtime is special that’s true … 🙂 In less than two weeks from now Viennatime will open its doors… So if someone reads this come and see us at Viennatime in the MAK Museum …
Thanks a lot for the details.
Hello Alexander,
as ambassador of the telecommunications industry in Germany, I want to comment your post regarding high-speed internet access.
You write about Swisscom-WLAN? Swisscom is the leading swiss provider, but does not provide internet in Germany. The WLAN situation in the Hotel Bayrischer Hof, I don’t know, it’s the responsibility of the hotel. But of course high speed internet via LTE (has to be paid) is available perfectly in the city of Munich and around Marienplatz, just hundred meter away from you, high-speed WLAN is available for free to every visitor of Munich. Perhaps have a coffee at Cafe Klockenspiel at Marienplatz, with a spectacular view to the old city-hall and upload your videos for us….? (Smile)… Greetings!! J. Walther
Walther, in the hotel Bayerischer Hof WLAN is provided by Swisscom. Upload is limited to 250 MB a day and it is slow… As an Austrian (= not a German resident) I have no access to LTE since there is no prepaid product on the market I could use. I do have a 3G prepaid SIM with Telekom I am using in my iPad, but to upload such data amounts this access is simply to slow. Unfortunately I did not have the time to go to the cafe you mentioned and especially yesterday Munich was so crowded that I would have never found a place to sit there. If you are an ambassador of the telecom industry and you can help me to get LTE on a prepaid base in Germany this would really be useful to me…
Thank you for comment!
Alexander
Hi Alexander,
I just did mail you informations about LTE prepaid for Austrians (smile) in Germany.
Viele Grüsse!!
Walther
I already answered… 🙂
I liked the looks of Nomos Lux, it really looks fabulous!
Truly stunning pictures!
To take the pictures and record the video did you use professional equipment or just your Smartphone?
I use a Sony NEX7 with a Zeiss Macro lens and I tape the interviews with a sophisticated Tascam microphone that I connect to the iPad. The Tascam PCM recorder app does the rest …
Very interesting info about the cam you use – think I’ll have to have a look at the new kind of compact fullframe cameras.
Sometimes, especially when travelling, a regular DSLR with several lenses is waaay to much hassle to work with (and heavy too!)…
Is the nomos lux available in yellow gold ?
Are the nomos available in the USA ?
No, the Lux is not available in yellow or red gold and yes NOMOS is available in the US.
