The new Chopard Superfast 919 Porsche Motorsport Chronograph: exclusive pictures and interviews with Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and motorsport-legend „Monsieur Le Mans“ Jacky Ickx.

Chopard Superfast 919 Porsche Motorsport Chronograph

During the Ennstal-Classic, a historical car sporty challenge, I had the chance to see the new Chopard Superfast 919 Porsche Motorsport Chronograph. I like the watch, have a look…

The Ennstal-Classic is Motor sports like in earlier times… Drivers and Cars can be experienced closely, without electronic hubs, with free entry. It´s a festival for historical car lovers, photographers and autograph-hunters…

Many well-known motorsport-legends attended the Ennstal-Classic this year. Amongst them Sir Stirling Moss, Walter Röhrl, Dieter Quester, Hans-Joachim Stuck Jo Ramirez and „Monsieur Le Mans“ Jacky Ickx.

Jacky Ickx is a long-term ambassador for Porsche and recently he has just become the ambassador of the entire Volkswagen Group. Jacky Ickx is also a very close and good friend of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, the Co-President of Chopard. And this blend of two big personalities now brings us to the new Chopard Superfast 919 Porsche Motorsport Chronograph.

Please listen to my interviews with Jacky Ickx and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele to learn more about the partnership between Chopard and Porsche Motorsports.

The new partnership agreement between Chopard and Porsche Motorsport once again turns the spotlight on the Superfast collection, the new watchmaking collection of Chopard. It is a sophisticated timepiece with an exclusive finishing. The new Chopard Superfast 919 Porsche Motorsport Chronograph is entirely in tune with Porsches approach to motor racing: “Lab for our visions”.

The imposingly sized chronograph with its 45 mm-diameter case and fly-back function is powered by the mechanical Chopard 03.05-M calibre, that is of course chronometer-certified by the COSC.

The ‘engine’ and its oscillating weight may be admired through a sapphire crystal engraved with the inscription “Official Timing Partner Porsche Motorsport”.

Inspired by the new Porsche 919 Hybrid, the stripes on the dial evoke the racing car’s rear diffuser. Likewise, the “919” appearing in a red rectangle inside a “9 o’clock” sub-dial is identical to the number of the Porsche racing cars. Finally, the rubber strap is inspired by slick tyres serving to negotiate bends at extremely high speeds.

Chopard says: “This new Superfast chronograph proclaims a highly exclusive nature that is a perfect match for the legendary Porsche cars, since the new Superfast 919 Porsche Motorsport Chronograph is produced in a strictly limited 919-piece series reserved for those who are quick off the mark.”

You are so lucky to get next to Jacky Ickx let alone get the interview! He is one of the survivors of F1 before all the safety equipment.
    Good luck to Chopard!

PS: I happy for Europe to today too!
