IWC presents further new products in the form of Pilot’s Watches in the striking retro design of the historic Big Pilot’s Watch from the 1940s. These new models are called the Pilot’s Watch Heritage which are available in different models. First there are 2 models of the Big Pilot. One titanium version with a black dial and blue hands coated with luminescent material ref. IW501004. Second comes in a bronze case which has ref. IW501005. Last but for sure not the least is a new Mark XVIII Heritage model ref. IW327006
IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Heritage
Clearly inspired by the original IWC Big Pilot 52 from the 1940’s but adapted to modern times. The design is very similar but has an added date and power reserve indicator. Choice of material however is titanium. For people who like bronze watches there also is a limited edition of 1,500 pieces only. Both of these watches are driven by the IWC manufactured calibre 52110 which features a whopping 7-day power reserve. On the dial there is a power reserve indicator displayed at 3 o’clock.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Heritage
Where the Mark 18 is one of my favourite models of IWC it’s great to see the new Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Heritage. For the first time created in titanium it simply looks stunning. Like the other heritage models is comes with a black dial and blue hands coated with luminescent material. With it’s 40mm size this watch is simply perfect for the wrist. Nice detail is the dark date disc which blends in well with the dial. The darker look of the titanium simply looks stunning and adds a bit of a vintage look to it.
The IWC Heritage collection comes on a brown calfskin strap with contrasting stitching. They are fitted with the tried and tested Pilot’s Watch technology from IWC. These watches feature a soft-iron inner case which protects the movement from possible magnetic fields. The sapphire glass is designed specially to be protected against sudden drops in pressure in the cockpit.
The new models are available from November 2017 in IWC boutiques and from authorised IWC retailers.
