The Swatch SISTEM51 is a perfect mechanical watch: Swiss made + ETA-hightech calibre + cool design + good quality = absolutely inexpensive.
Technically they are interesting, but unfortunately they are a throwaway item that cannot be repaired of adjusted. Also they are VERY plasticky feeling, the plastic crown feels cheap. I love the comfortable strap and the long power reserve, and the look of my orginal 51 with blue case and astronomy theme. Would be interesting to eventually see the movement in an Irony case.
Still, it is not that great a proposition. If you google Seiko SNZG then you will find for a similar or even cheaper price level an attractive & very reliable series of watches with metal case and if needed adjustable movement.
Hence not that convinced that a Sistem51 is such a great entry to automatic watches…
World cheapest mechanical watch, good looking as a young lady. For one apple watch, you can get 365 Swatch watches, one for each day in the year. For one overpriced Hublot, you can get 730 Swatch The Swatch is a high quality mechanical watch same a Hublot but the price is the same Ice cream and everybody can buy them.

I still think the original System 51 Black is the best. My have somthing to do with the leather strap.
I will be waiting for a Chronograph version. And yes I prefer the new blue version.

150 days of military service are enough for me. I will never understand the fashion aspect of military wear. To me, Tangerine looks tempting. Though I must admit, I still miss THE ultimate Sistem 51 design.
Both new blue ones are gorgeous and I do very much like the camouflage look… But, maybe the best is yet to come …
Six years was more than enough for me. But having said that I still have my old fatigue blouse. It is however about time to retire it to the trash i think.
