I have read all the comments and as a watch enthusiast I can NOT understand that one would compare an I-watch with an Omega. Its like to compare a MC Donald restaurant with a Five star Michelin restaurant. One is mass market product and the other one is to a certain extend hand made. Also if one thinks the new Omega is difficult to read please have a look at a Richard Mille watch and then you tell me which one is easier to read. Omega Well Done stunning and at an interesting Price Point. We will see if they can beat the IWC Pilot or the Overseas from Vacheron Constantin.

Sure they can. But that’s like comparing a MC Donalds restaurant with a Five star Michelin Restaurant.

      😉

Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Master Chronometer looks just awesome, but at 16.85 mm it is a bit too thick for me and if Omega could make it a little thinner, then I think this watch would be a perfect one.

    1. To stay authentic the Speedmaster has a cambered sapphire crystal … This exercise of style causes additional height … Honestly I prefer to have an authentic Speedmaster, then a more thinner version …

As Mr Urguhart will go back to become a trainee watch maker again, he may be able to make a thinner watch under Mr Stern supervision,

  3. says: Hans

I suggest Mr Urguhart become a trainee watch maker under supervison of Mr Stern at Patek, how to make watches people can read and get useful function.

  4. says: Hans

    Hi Alexander

The issue with Omega watches above, there are too many functions and dark colors make it difficult to read the main function time. Futhermore, most of the functions you never use and will cost a bomb to get service.

My wife has a Omega from 1965 with white back ground easy to read the time. I will suggest the Omega gang should go back to 1960, start to make watches that can read the time and remove
    Functions people never use.

I agree with what to say.
I once asked a person if he too used the stopwatch and the timer of your watch, and the answer was that he thought it was just for beautiful show.
I also like “clean” watches, only the date.

      Hans,
Has one detail: The watches Omega De Ville and Constellation, are clean and beautiful to look at.
Take a look also at Globemaster, which is one of the most beautiful watches made lately.

Nice, but with an overall thickness of 16.85 mm, the watch (again) is a too thick for me to buy. I assume it is because of the caliber height. I call this a missed opportunity. With all the technological power of the Swatch Group behind, Omega should please explain to me why, starting from caliber 9300, it was not possible to reduce the height of caliber 9904 even by a few tenth of a millimeter.
Please explain! Every tenth of a millimeter counts!
Omega’s watchmaker should visit Piaget for a few weeks in the holiday season. Maybe this helps.

    Apple Watch Geschäftsmodell neu

    Hallo Alexander,

    lg
    Rainer

I am sure that they don’t have paintings on their walls as well because they have a t.v right? Don’t conflict a passion/hobby/art that is high watchmaking with utility.I am sure it was a great meeting with loads to talk about had a great time and even went out for a drink afterwords. I only hope you could see the time at the end of the night…And not from alcohol abuse, but due to battery drainage of your watches and phones

P.s: Respect this man’s work.I’m sure you would expect that for yourself

P.s2: If Google translate messed up the translation of your message I apologise sincerely for my tone. If not, I guess I don’t…

I participated in a meeting in Pretoria yesterday. Four participants had an Apple Watch on the wrist that they told me to receive for free from a company. If they have “healthy behaviour” during a month they get e.g. reductions in shops, if they do not they have to pay the monthly instalment for their device.
They are all very happy with that business model, and well, no place left on the wrist for a dress watch.
